Belinda is an improvising musician/composer living in Melbourne, Australia. A PhD graduate of the VCA (Melbourne University), Belinda was awarded a 2015 Creative Victoria Scholarship for excellence in her field, was a recipient of an APA from 2011-2013 and a finalist in the 2011 APRA Professional Development Awards. Artistic director of the Make It Up Club from 1993 – 2007, and Project Manager for the Click Clack Project and Jolt Arts 2010-2016, Belinda has played a major role in supporting and enhancing the development of the Melbourne music scene.
Predominantly a flautist, Belinda performs in many ensembles including Bohjass and the BOLT Ensemble as well as her own groups Lo-Res and Saveja. As a soloist Belinda has developed an array of extended techniques which she utilises in performances as an improviser and an interpreter of music. She has been invited to perform in Festivals across Australia, Japan and Europe as well as independently curated events across Australia.
