Allison Wright grew up in Eltham, Victoria and began playing trumpet at age 10. At 19, Allison was accepted into the Professional Performance Program at the Australian National Academy of Music under the combined tutelage of Tristram Williams; world renowned contemporary soloist and David Elton; principal trumpet of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Allison regularly performs in chamber settings as well as a soloist.
In September 2013, Allison was one of 8 Australians selected to compete in the Aeolus International Competition for Winds in Dusseldorf, Germany. Allison is a casual musician with Orchestra Victoria and has performed with the Australian Youth Orchestra and alongside Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Australian Chamber Orchestra musicians in various initiatives.
In 2014 and 2015, Allison is a recipient of the The Standish Robert Trumpet Scholarship and a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra. As well as classical trumpet, Allison has a passion for sound design and music production.
